New York City

Steve had a business trip to NYC again so this time I got to go with him.

World Trade Center

WTC

Statue of Liberty
First time to the base of the statue.  I've seen it from the ferry before.

NYC skyline from the Statue of Liberty.  Tallest building now is the WTC

The Freedom Tower -World Trade Center
We went up to the top floor of the WTC - aka the Freedom Tower.  It has 104 stories and is 1776 feet tall which is a direct reference to the year the Declaration of Independence was signed.  The elevator ride was so fast and if you ever go pay attention to the video that is shown on the walls of the elevator as you go up.  It shows a timelapse video of NYC being built.  The elevator appears to emerge from bedrock in the year 1500, revealing marsh land yet to be colonized, and then quickly advances to show the rapid expansion that led to the Manhattan we know today.  Actually, here's a link to the video.  http://www.businessinsider.com/one-world-trade-center-elevator-video-timelapse-lets-you-see-twin-towers-2015-4

Manhattan Temple

I went to the temple and did a session while Steve was working

9/11 Museum

There was so much to see at the museum we could have been there all day.  Most museums don't keep my attention for too long but this one did by far.  I wanted to read everything.  There were 40 of these pillars that they took down at each tower during the clean up of 9/11.  There was a ton of debris around this pillar.  This one they couldn't get down for some reason.  It just wouldn't budge.  Then they found the remains of 8 firefighters around this pillar and decided to leave the pillar.

The MET

Times Square

Top two pictures are from the Top of the Rock.  Bottom left picture is our tour of Madison Square Garden.  Last picture we biked around Central Park.

It was a fun trip but I missed our girls so much.  We face timed with them every day and I'm surprised that Lexi and Addison didn't cry or anything for us to come home.  They must be having fun with their cousins.
